17th Reigate Beavers - Autumn Adventures

14.9.12 - Games / Swim-up

We started off the term with our usual Games and Swim-up night when we said goodbye to our Beavers moving on to Cubs.  Amanda Doran, aka Akela in Cubs and Fox in Beavers was there at the end of the rope to welcome them.

21.9.12 - Out and About at Bower Hill Farm - New Beavers Join

We had lots of fun down on the farm, enjoying a bumpy tractor ride, learning about the countryside code and welcoming our new Beavers.

Thanks to Tors for supervising during the ride!!  Connor's turn next time ....

28.9.12 - Campfire at Ron's

Fun and games before the bonfire with lots of parents helping out.  If you look carefully you can spot Jack's gran being chased by Jake.

29.9.12 - Bazazz

Fox, Squirrel and Tors took a group of the older Beavers along to Bazazz at the Cranleigh County Showground on Saturday 29th September.  The weather was fabulous and the Beavers  had a great day trying out some new things.  Louis Wright's goal on the giant table football was a highlight of the day, as was walking across the water and cornflour mix without falling in.

5.10.12 - Health and Fitness (Part 1)

Our healthy fortnight started off with a chance to make and eat lots of different healthy sandwiches.  Many Beavers tried something new and started working towards their activity badges and Fitness Challenge badge.

12.10.12 - Health and Fitness (Part 2)

Jo Evans from the Reigate School of Ballet came in to put the Beavers through their paces with her energetic exercise session.  Well done to the Leaders and helpers who also joined in. Owl and Fox did particularly well!!!  The new Beavers also earned their 'Hobbies' badge during this meeting, coming along in their kit and telling us about their favourite sports.  Charlie was a star turning up with his swimming hat and goggles on!

26.10.12 - Halloween - Investing new Beavers

Patrick and Connor were willing volunteers, patiently letting the Beavers 'mummify' them in toilet paper.  Lucky escape Tors!  Apple bobbing gave the Beavers an opportunity to have another daily wash with Max getting the wettest.  Our new Beavers were invested once we'd all calmed down and dried off.

We welcomed Hawkeye to the Beaver leader team.

9.11.12 - Global Food Fest

Time for some more food, this time from around the world.  The Beavers were asked to bring in new foods for each other to try.  We had some wonderful dishes brought in including fajitas, a gorgeous Portuguese dessert, stollen, smelly cheeses and croissants.  The out and out favourite was the seaweed.  It was 'lovely' - just ask any Beaver who was brave lucky enough to try it!

16.11.12 - Animals From Around the World

For the second week of our 'Global Fortnight' Sarah bought in her exotic pets for the Beavers to look at, feed and handle.  This was a wonderful evening with the children learning lots about where the animals came from and what they liked to eat.

2.12.12 - District Carol Concert

On Sunday 2nd December, a group of Beavers attended the District Carol Concert.  Jack's super snowman picture was chosen to be used in the play which was performed and the Beavers did us proud with their lovely singing and good behaviour.  Look out for Mike, our Group Scout Leader (GSL) at the end of the row waiting patiently for the singing to start.

7.12.12 - Christmas Party

Tors and Connor, our two Young Leaders, organised a great Christmas Party for the Beavers which featured the biggest, longest-lasting pass the parcel the colony has ever seen.  It was time for more food - something the Beavers have excelled at this term.

14.12.12 - Pantomime at the Harlequin

The term was finished off in fine style with our trip to the pantomime.  We had great front row seats thanks to Fox's early booking and the Beavers had great fun booing and cheering in all of the right places.  Daniel and Josphat were absolute superstars when they were invited to go on stage.

A huge ' thank you' to all of our parents this term for all of your support during our meetings and for sending along your Beavers  to our meetings, wherever the location and with whatever we asked them to bring.

Finally, many thanks to Tors and Connor who have done a super job this term, especially organising the Christmas party.

See you in the New Year.
