Explorers - County Night Challenge

Over the Saturday night of the 3rd/4th March, 37 explorer teams from across the county took part in the Diamond Jubilee night challenge. This event entailed teams navigating a course of 20½ km visiting 17 bases (some of which had activities to complete) and completing the whole challenge in less than 9 hours.
Starting from a scout hut in South Holmwood the route took our team across Holmwood Common and the surrounding area. The team from the 17th, consisting of Matt, Albert, Miles, Sam, Adam and Patrick, completed the course in 9 hours and 49 minutes and managed to visit 16 bases. This put them into 11th place which was the highest placed team from the Reigate district. A great result as this is the first time that we have entered this competition.
