Five new Beavers joined us for our 'Highland Games' evening to celebrate Burns' Night. First we made some masks:
Then each Beaver made a 'discus' for the hurling competition.
31.1.14 Mike's Messy Making
Our Group Scout Leader, Mike, led a fun evening during which the Beavers got nice and messy creating and decorating lettering for the scout group. It was a good job they'd been asked to wear their own clothes!!
14.2.14 Young Leaders' Evening - Valentine's Day
The Beavers had a super time playing games and making scrumptious Valentine's biscuits. Thanks to our two young leaders for planning and running the evening.
28.2.14 and 7.3.14 - Air Activities Badge and Investitures
The Beavers spent two weeks doing badge work: making and flying paper aeroplanes, learning about different types of flight and enjoying a talk from one of the Beaver's Mums who works for British Airways cabin crew.
At the end of the evening, our new Beavers were invested.
21.3.14 Healthy Eating
The Beavers enjoyed making a variety of 'healthy' and 'tasty' snacks to go towards their 'Healthy Eating' badge and completed a quiz on hygiene and staying healthy. Well done to everyone for their help that evening - it was rather busy!!
28.3.14 - Fitness Challenge
Carrying on with our 'healthy living' theme, Hannah came in to get the Beavers exercising. They had a great time playing games, doing stretches and thinking about the benefits of keeping fit.
29 - 30.3.14 - District Beaver Sleepover and Fun Day
Lots of fun was had at this district event at Reigate College, with the Beavers creating and dressing up in their very own super hero costumes. There were lots of activities available during the day and the oldest Beavers had a chance to stay overnight. In the morning, one of our Beavers was presented with his Chief Scout's Bronze Award by the Assistant District Commissioner for Beavers.
4.4.14 - Campfire at Ron's
To finish off the term, we went to Ron's to play some games and do some singing around the campfire. There were nearly as many parents and helpers as there were Beavers!! We said 'goodbye' to the seven Beavers moving on up to Cubs after Easter.

Another huge 'thank you' to our helpers and parents for their support throughout this term.
