When it comes to investitures (enrolling members into each section) we often try to find different ways or locations to do this so that it stands out and hopefully becomes memorable. After all if you're going to recite your Scout Promise why not do it in a unique way!
And so, on Friday 14 February, we had a first for the Group - investitures underwater!
This was at the end of an evening of snorkelling instruction and playing octopus (otherwise known as underwater hockey). Tasha, Emilio, Alice, Dominic, Andrew and Rosie said their promise in their heads (following the words on a laminated sheet of paper), and then in turn gave the 'thumbs up' that they were happy to join Explorers.
So having been presented with their scarves and shaking hands they became the first Explorers to be invested at 20,000 leagues under the sea (well at least 10 centimetres under the surface!). More photos of the evening can be seen on the Group Youtube channel via the Group website.
