Scouts Cowhorn Competition March 2013

On Sunday, in the pouring rain, five Scouts (Chris, Dominic, Conor, Henry and James) set off on an Incident Hike over the North Downs.

The District Cowhorn Competition involved map reading and plotting a route between checkpoints.  There were questions to be answered along the route, and there were also several activities that the Scouts carried out at the checkpoints.
Points were awarded throughout the event for kit preparation, teamwork, questions on the route, navigation skills, as well as for the activities,  As you will see from the results table below, the scores were extremely close, but 17th Reigate were declared the winners - well done team!

Upon hearing the news, Chris commented "YIPEE!!!!!!!!!   All that hard work trekking through treacherously muddy and water logged fields paid off!!!!!   The "drowned rats" won!!!!"

Congratulations again to all five.
