Our expedition began with a short minibus ride to Studland Bay, a ferry to Sandbanks and then a boat to Brownsea Island. With the rest of the Group we headed to the Scout Stone, commemorating the first Scout camp from where we would start our hike. We all had to touch the
stone and then have a sprint start back to the jetty to catch the boat back to the mainland. Within the first couple of hours we could really feel the heat, but during the
day there was some entertainment as there were 8 Africans who were singing, dancing
and playing instrument which kept us amused.
Then for a long time it was the same thing - walking along the beach front.
Next came the steps and which needed a lot of effort, but at the
top it was a castle, and a perfect time to start singing! Then we reached the 5th
Christchurch scouts and we were so happy when we got there, we sang, we danced
and played football. We relaxed and had a good hearty bowl of meatballs, pasta
and sauce and then slept like babies, as well as listen to Chris sleep talk
about yellow stone and some random stuff.

Day 2 - Friday 27 July
Day 2, which would be our longest day, with the weather at the
start looking good but as the day passed it got hotter and hotter. In the
end, because of the distance we had to walk, our feet were aching, and we
started to get less and less happy in the team, but as we neared the finish - Ferny Crofts - Albert and Miles started
singing and even started to run a little As we got closer and closer to the camp site, the
speed of our walking increased and our arrival was rewarded but some much needed ice-cream (helps to make to pain of sore feet and legs go away!). Everything that happened that day was forgotten. We set up camp and showered before tucking in to or MoD-style boil in the
bags, which were tasty, before waiting for Sue and Michelle to turn up with our
tents. Then we all went to bed very early.
